Dixons Marchbank Primary

Amanda Stephenson

Assistant Principal

Amanda gained a first class Bachelor of Arts degree from Leeds Metropolitan University, specialising in Phonics, and has been teaching since 2012, mainly in Year 6.

She brought to Dixons many transferable skills gained from working as a website designer/manager for Royal Mail and from having her own successful business, Aires & Graces Ltd, where she employed 30 staff and from being in Exeter University Officer Training Corps, as a reserve Army officer.

English and Computing are her passions and she wants all children to leave primary school as confident, articulate and resilient individuals with aspirations to succeed at high school and in life. When children say they cannot do something, she replies, “You cannot do it, yet.”

Amanda has 2 grown-up children and 2 large dogs and enjoys travelling (especially Cornwall), going to the gym, walking the dogs in the woods and reading lots of books. She also likes writing and is in the process of writing her own book!
