Teacher training

At Dixons Marchbank we support the next generation of teachers by providing opportunities at our academy for PGCE students, trainee teachers and students with an interest in teaching. These range from hosting Year 10 work placement students for two weeks to providing formal classroom training for students on PGCE and other teacher training programmes. We have supported candidates through the Birth to 19 SCITT in conjunction with the Dixons Teaching Institute.

We also work closely with Leeds Trinity College and Bradford College to provide valuable learning experiences for prospective teachers within our classrooms. Feedback we have received has been excellent and we are continually developing our practice, alongside other Dixons academies and multi-academy trusts, so that we can provide a strong learning environment for trainee teachers.
