Dixons Marchbank Primary

Our community hub

Working with the community to improve outcomes and aspirations is key to ensuring our pupils get the best start in life. We are committed to helping all our families support their children at home and in the wider community.

Our dedicated Family Support Worker, Sehrish, is responsible for running a number of community programmes, both for the immediate families of our pupils and for the wider local community. We have a dedicated Community Room, which is set up for community activities to take place, including maths and English classes, fitness club, sewing and cooking club. We also organise activities away from school and these have recently included a Blackpool day trip and a visit to Knowsley Safari Park. Although priority is given to our own parents, these activities are open to the wider community and attract a lot of interest.

We recently won an ESOL award in recognition of our work in teaching English and maths to adults. We are extremely proud of this accolade and the fact that we are making a visible difference in supporting our local community; Marchbank is only the 4th school in the country to receive this award.

Our Family Support Worker Sehrish Khan, is around every morning to meet and greet. If you would like more information or to request a place on a course, please let her know or speak to the office team.
